CPR

CPR class will cover,

·         CPR for all ages

·         Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

·         Choking on a conscious and unconscious person

·         Recognizing the signs of a possible Heart Attack and Stroke and what you need to do

·         Helping a person unconscious and breathing

·         Contacting 911 from land lines and cell phones

CPR for Healthcare Professionals will also include using BVM and a test.

FIRST AID

First Aid class will cover,

·         Proper First Aid for cuts, burns, bites, stings, possible broken bones, sprains,     amputation, impaled objects, dental injuries, eye injuries, nosebleed, suspected spine injury, asthma, diabetes, seizure, poison, pregnancy, heat and cold related emergencies, heart attacks and strokes

·         Controlling bleeding

·         Questions to ask a injured or ill person,  recovery position

·         Proper methods for moving a person if necessary

·         Protecting yourself with gloves and face barrier devices

·         The Good Samaritan Law

·         Consent

·         Calling 911 for a land line or a cell phone

BLOODBORNE PATHOGENS

This class is recommended for individuals whose jobs put them at risk for exposure to blood and bodily fluids. Class will cover,

·         Common bloodborne pathogen

·         How to minimize exposure

·         Steps to follow if exposed

Shaken Baby Syndrome (SBS) and Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS)

This class is recommended for employees of child care centers and individuals providing care for children 24 months or younger.*  Class will cover,

·         Understanding SBS and SIDS

·         Early childhood brain development

·         SBS and SIDS risk factors

·         Preventing SBS and SIDS

·         Managing stress
